It has been more than30years since our state reformed and opened, during this period,China’s economy has been developed rapidly, depending on the exports and investmentdriven economic growth model of development, however, at the same time, China’seconomic dependence on foreign markets are increasingly deepen. The global financial crisisin2008, has made our external environment rapidly deteriorated, our country economicgrowth once downshift. Hence, in order to ensure our economy develop in a sustainable andstable way, we have to adopt the domestic demand driven model of economic growth. Thisarticle research China’s residents’ consumption income based on the perspective of theindustrial structure, find out the root of insufficient consumer demand is caused by theimbalance of industrial structure, and refer to other developed countries’ experiences ofindustrial structure adjustment to promote consumer demand growth in China, and putforward some reasonable proposals in expanding consumer demand by adjusting theindustrial structure, this has great practical significance to implement transformation of thepattern of economic growth and expand consumer demand.In this article firstly analyze on the inner link of consumer demand and the industrialstructure, expound the development law of industrial structure and consumer demand, findout the mutual interaction relationship between consumer demand and the industrial structure,that is industry structure decides consumer demand and consumer demand guide industrialstructure. Secondly based on the perspective of the industrial structure, analyze the causes ofChina’s insufficient consumer demand, from the effective supply shortage、the incomestructure influenced by consuming capacity、 the employment structure influenced byconsumption level these three aspects to analyze the industrial structure factors which inhibitsresidents’ consumer demand. Thirdly learn from other countries’ experiences about how toexpand residents’ consumption by industrial structure adjustment, and summary itsenlightenment on China. Finally according to the inhibition factors of industrial structureimpact on residents’ consumer demand, and refer to the success experiences from abroad,propose recommendations that how to adjust industrial structure to expand residents’ consumer demand, main including:1、optimize industrial structure, increase the effectivesupply of products2、adjust industrial structure, optimize the income structure3、optimizeindustrial structure，increase the employment elasticity. As the initial point of the process ofthe economic operation, industrial structure plays a fundamental role in expanding residents’consumption, according to the current needs of residents’ consumer demand in China,rationally adjust the industrial structure, plays a significant part in expanding residents’consumption, promoting economic growth in a effective way.
