The Hui merchants is one of the prestigious “China side of ten big business”during the Mingand Qing Dynasties. The scope of its activities cover the catchment of the Yantse river, two HuaiRegion and Wuchu area, in the salt industry, food industry, wood industry, pawnbroking industryand so on the Hui merchants in a dominant position.In Hui merchants peak period, its rich, biginfluence to other business is difficult to approach greatness. Until the end of feudal society andwith the gradual decline of Hui merchants, its always the traditional chinese business play adecisive role. Hakka merchants are also important merchants for China during the Ming and QingDynasties, especially in the late stage of Qing Dynasty, Hakka merchants based on domestic,rooted in Nanyang, one of the best such as Zhang bishi and others amang the wealthy, powerfulbig, in chinese business history was left glorious footprints. This article attempts to discuss theHuizhou merchants and Hakka businessmen mainly from the following aspects.The first chapter focus on the Hui merchants and Hakka merchants to rise. With the clue oftime introduced the general process of Hui merchants from rise to peak to the decline, with theclue of space introduced the development of Hakka merchants at home and abroad especially insoutheast asia.The second chapter describes the similarities of Hui merchants and Hakka businessmenmainly from the arisen reason, business philosophy, pioneering spirit, culture tradition, valuepursuit and other aspects were compared, which reflects the profound influence of confucianculture to the two big businessmen.The third chapter describes the differences of Hui merchants and Hakka businessmen in theMing and Qing Dynasties mainly from the prosperous time, business background, business district,community, the relations to the government and other aspects to launch the elaboration, and thenanalysis the differences of the two merchants in the above aspects.The fourth chapter describes the cause of similarities and differences of Hui merchants andHakka businessmen in Ming and Qing Dynasties, mainly from the geographical environment, theatmosphere of confucion, the traditional thought of pay more attention to education three aspectscarries on the analysis, obtains the similar intrinsic causes of the two merchants; From the nearbymarket, the influence of confucian, industry and region three aspects analysis, obtains thedifference reason of the two merchants.Conclusion part: Through the compared of the two merchants, gain the enlightenment fromthe develop difference of Hui merchants and Hakka businessnen.
