At present, China’s tourism industry constitute an important part of the world tourismmarket, is trying to struggle for the realization of China’s great goal to become a worldtourism power. Development of tourism in the upward trend would inevitably produce achain reaction of regional tourism source markets, resulting in competition between thetwo, combined with today’s society advocated the concept of sustainable development, andtherefore the key to the development of China’s regional tourism how to use the concept ofsustainable development in the region’s tourism industry in an invincible position in fiercecompetition. Therefore, on regional tourism competitiveness study has important practicalsignificance. To evaluate the competitiveness of the regional tourism industry is essential,which is the regional tourism,s foundation and starting point for tourism planning and toimprove the level of competitiveness, this article reviewed a lot of literature on tourism,study its establishing for competitive evaluation model and the analytical methods, thenbuild a more intuitive assessment of the regional tourism competitiveness of the circlemodel, and strong regions of the selected part of the tourism industry in China, usingfactor analysis on the competitiveness of an objective evaluation, which has far-reachingsignificance for China’s tourism industry to be among the forefront in the fiercecompetition in the world tourism.First, the article describes the background and significance of this research,introduces the trend of domestic and international tourism development in recent years,summes up the status study on tourism competitiveness, introduces the research ofscholars at home and abroad for tourism competitiveness, and explains the main content ofthis article for research and the methods used.Secondly, distinguish and explain the concepts of tourism competitiveness, containcompetitiveness, tourism industry and the competitiveness of industries, tourist areas, thenintroduce the theories of the tourism competitiveness, lay the foundation for the follow-upwork.Again, construct the evaluation model suitable for analyzing the competitiveness ofregional tourism, tourism competitiveness is divided into three areas of the market, businesses and infrastructure by the model, analyze internal and external factors of theimpact of the regional tourism competitiveness, and establish the evaluation indexes basedon these factors, construct the regional tourism competitiveness evaluation index system.Then, apply these indicators to objectively and comprehensively evaluat HebeiProvince’s tourism competitiveness, obtain competitive advantages and disadvantages andidentify the existing problems of tourism competitiveness in Hebei Province, mainlyrelated to the strategy, function, market, brand, cooperation, and products.Finally, make appropriate solutions for the problems of Hebei Provincial tourismcompetitiveness, including the three aspects of the market, corporate and foundation, and afull range of proposed strategies for Hebei Provincial tourism industry to enhance theircompetitiveness.
