With the recent development of higher education, Chinese government pay much more attention to invest and output on it, which leads to serious problems that the shortage of the higher education resources, the inefficiency of using it and the uneven allocation of it. Many a large-scale colleges and universities spend quantities of money but with inappropriate low output. This paper based on the study of current higher education, with the methods of canonical correlation analysis, cluster analysis and principal component analysis, calculates the three-year efficiency of allocation and usage of higher education resources of universities directly affiliated by the Ministry of Education in China including the including the Ministry of education and national defense construction and University:1.、 Find out and analyzing the input and output variables of higher education and discover the relation between them with canonical correlation analysis by deleting the index of relatively smaller correlation coefficient, established investment index and output index is related to indicators2. Cluster the input and output indicators with cluster analysis and study the tree gram and find out the similar index t. Calculate and analyzing the correlation coefficient of input and output indicators then, deleting indicators that are too much high to make it more accurate, ultimately determine the input indicators and output indicators.3. On the basis of Reducing dimensions of input and output indicators by using the principal component analysis, calculate their characteristic value, variance contribution rate, the cumulative variance contribution rate and factor loading matrix with SPSS and decide the feature values and weights of principal component to calculate the input and output score models.4. Analyzing the data based on the three-year input and output in higher education with the score models mentioned before to acquire the point of input and output in every college, which decides the efficiency of utilization of higher education resources for every college.5.
