Progress control is an important part of modern project management and also one of the four major objectives of cost of the project (cost), schedule, quality and safety. To have an effective control of the project implementation and to make it successfully reach the intended target, the project management is a key task. The pros and cons of the progress of control work not only affect the success of the project, but also directly affect the project’s economic, social and market prospects. Therefore, the project schedule control theory is applied to construction projects, which can guide the progress of the project implementation and ensure timely completion of the construction period to ensure the effectiveness of the project.This paper is targeted at "the28contract of Tian jin112highway project", that mainly discusses the theory, methods and techniques of project progress control, implementation of the various elements of the progress control, and problem solution during the operation of the project. From this paper, we can find that there is a lack of risk and corporate culture management in "the28contract of Tian jin112highway project" And the project needs to further strengthen its progress control, quality, safety and cost (ie costs) control optimization, so as to improve the progress control of the visualization, information technology and institutionalization.This paper first introduces the schedule control principles, methods and progress of the plan preparation and implementation of the theory. Then it expounds the preparations for progress control of "the28contract of Tian jin112highway project". Through the analysis of the project profiles, project structure decomposition, the project organization and functions of the arrangements, a schedule control system is set up. The paper furthermore analyzes the project schedule control process and the entire project schedule control program from the schedule control procedures and methods described. It also discusses the specific preparation of the project schedule, and makes a detailed description of dynamic control of the project progress monitoring, including the progress reports, deviation analysis and corrective measures. Finally, the article makes an evaluation of the implementation of the project schedule control, summarizes the success factors and also offers some suggestions to help solve the problems left.
