Migrant workers ia a new group that is emerging in the process of industrialization and urbanization.As the second largest social group,migrant workers have made a great contribution to rural development, urban construction and the modernization of our country. At the same time, migrant workers is also a vulnerable social group owing to the cross-impact of various factors.They are mainly engaged in the work with high-risk,labor-intensive and low-income,therefore they are forced to face the danger of getting killed at any time,and there is a pretty high rate of the occurrence of work-related injuries and occupational diseases for them.What’s more, the majority of migrant workers are not able to enjoy personal security brought by work-related injury insurance,just like the urban residents do.By the end of June2011,the number of participants of work-related injury insurance during migrant workers is65.55million,and the insurance rate is only27%.The negative impacts of migrant workers’ work-related injury insurance problems, not only endangering the migrant workers themselves, but also having extremely adverse effects for China’s urban development,social harmony or stability,as well as the integration of urban and rural areas.And if the problems of migrant workers’work-related injury insurance could be solved properly,it will meet the needs of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of migrant workers,it will also help to push the rural and urban development,and it’s also the requirement of building integrated social security system in urban and rural areas.Therefore,we choose the subject of migrant workers’work-related injury insurance as the research topic of this paper.The full text develops with the following route:propose a question,analyze the question and solve the question.This article adopts literature analysis,comparative analysis,field investigation and case studies as the research methods.It begins with the generation of migrant workers and their group characteristics, and then discusses the necessity and current situation of migrant workers’work-related injury insurance.After that,it analyzes the existing problems of China’s migrant workers’work-related injury insurance and the bad influences of these problems,the problems involves the cognitive dilemma,barriers to implementation and system defects.On the basis of that,it gives a deep analysis on the reasons which lead to the migrant workers’work-related injury insurance issues,and puts forward some countermeasures against the existing problems of migrant workers’work-related injury insurance on the basis of learning from foreign experience in terms of work-related injury insurance.The countermeasures include the following aspects,such as improving the quality of migrant workers, strengthening the responsibility of enterprises and strengthening the functions of the government.Finally,it studies the practice of migrant workers’work-related injury insurance of Guangzhou,and focus on introducing its successful practice.
