The Study On Disparities Of County Economy In Liaoning Province

County economy is the main component of China’s national economy, and itoccupies the important position. County economy is a major event in people’slivelihood. Its development bears the historical and practical responsibility.Since the reform and opening-up policy launched, Liaoning province has beenmaking good progress in promoting the development and improving thecompetitiveness of county economy. However it is not to be neglected that, theeconomic gap between the counties widens gradually. In developing the whole countyeconomy of Liaoning province, this phenomenon is a hindrance. So understand thecurrent status and find out the influencing factors of the disparities of county economyin Liaoning province is necessary.This paper is based on the regional economics’theories and researches related tocounty economy. It uses statistic analysis and linear regression analysis to study thepresent situation of county economic disparities and the factors leading to thosedisparities in Liaoning province.Concerning the present situation of the economic disparities between counties inLiaoning province, this paper takes two steps. First, according to economic indicators,it classifies all 44 counties of Liaoning province into three categories, and comparesthe disparities of these three categories. Second, it uses statistic analysis to obtain thevariation tendency of the absolute difference and the relative difference in LiaoningProvince. The conclusion is that disparities of different categories’increases with time.At the same time, the absolute difference becomes enlarged, the relative differencebecomes decreased.Analyzing the influencing factors of the disparities of county economy in Liaoning province, this paper makes use of the linear regression analysis. It choosesfive indicators, including the share of the secondary industry in GDP, the per-capita netincome of rural population, the per-capita social retail goods, the per-capita publicfinance expenditure, and sum of investments in fixed assets used. It concludes thatthose five indicators are all affect the development and the disparities of countyeconomy.In summary, measures must be adopted to improve the proposed condition inLiaoning province. The county government should take necessary actions, such asstrengthening infrastructure construction, reinforcing the specialization of countyregional industry and enhancing the county financial security. On that basis, the countygovernment should notice the different interior characters of county economy, andimplement differentiation strategies.
