The spiritual leadership will motivate and influence the staff from the spiritual level. Organizations setup the visions which employees will understand and accept, and the staff can feel the inspiration from theorganizations and their own. The leaders focus on the spirit of the employee and take care of the employee.At the same time, the staffs have confidence in the organization and its goal. In this state, the staffs feel thefullness of life and experience the meaning of life. So that both the individuals and the organization canachieve the goals.In this study, a literature survey, interview, questionnaires and other methods were taken to exploreissues related to China’s spiritual leadership. More than a thousand employees in a number of enterpriseswere selected for this investigation.We used the exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis,regression analysis and so on. The conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the spiritual leadership in China consisted of three dimensions: altruistic love, theorganizational vision and the belief or the sense of mission.The reliability and validity of the spiritualleadership questionnaire can meet the standard psychometric requirements.Secondly, the spiritual leadership had a major impact on employees’ innovative behavior andemotional commitment to have a major impact. The three dimensions of the spiritual leadership impactedthese variables differently. Altruistic love has a positive impact to innovation promotion andimplementation, as well as the emotional commitment. The organizational vision and the belief or the senseof mission have positive impacts to the three dimensions of the innovative behavior and the emotionalcommitment.Thirdly, the perceived supervisor support was found to not moderate the relationships betweenaltruistic love and emotional commitment significantly, so as the relationship between the organizationvision and emotional commitment. But it was found significantly moderate the relationships between thebelief or the sense of mission and emotional commitment.Fourth, different genders, ages, education levels, work experience and the types of work hadsignificant differences on the different dimensions of spiritual leadership. In the last, we summarized the shortcomings of the study and discussed the future research orientationabout the spiritual leadership.
