Modern logistics industry is a strategic component of modernservice industry, which is integrated with fragmented transport, storageand uploading, delivery, packing, distribution processing, informationprocessing, and other basic functions. As the development of logisticsindustry and market economy, the foundational and radicalizationfunction emerging gradually in national economy and industry structure.It has been called the third profit source after the material andpersonnel management.The development level of the industry is an important symbol,which measures the development level of a country or local economicsociety. In recent years, industrial structure of Shanghai has beenupgraded gradually, but compared with the international metropolis,which is very big disparity. In view of this, how to further promote theoptimization of Shanghai industry structure will be studied in the essay.On the background of knowledge as the core ofcompetitiveness, as the leading industrial of national economy, modernlogistics industry not only plays an important role in the economicdevelopment, but also promotes new forms, boosting the industrialstructure optimization and upgrading. In accordance with thedemands of the central government and economical globalizationbackground, promoting the development of modern logistics industry inShanghai is very important for speeding up the formation ofservice-oriented economy structure, improving its comprehensiveservice function, and boosting its international competitiveness.Therefore, it is not only with theoretic meaning and practice meaning,through developing effectively modern logistics industry to optimize theindustry structure.Starting from the connotation of modern logistics, this essay tries to build a function evaluation system for modern logistics industry onoptimization of industrial structure from two aspects: industrial structurerationalization and industrial structure upgrade. Taking thedevelopment of modern logistics industry and the industrial structure inShanghai into consideration, through some theories and empiricalresearch, analyzing the beneficial effects of the development ofmodern logistics industry on industrial structure optimization in Shanghai.Finally, based on the analysis of the development status of modernlogistics industry in Shanghai, useful countermeasures and policysuggestions about modern logistics development on industrial structureoptimization are put forward.The essay consists of seven chapters. Chapter One: Anintroduction, which introduces the background and foundations of thetopic, and significance and methods of this thesis. Chapter two:Focusing on the explanation of some important concepts and a reviewof related theories. Chapter Three: A function evaluation system formodern logistics industry on optimization of industrial structure isestablished, based on industrial structure rationalization and industrialstructure upgrade. Chapter Four: Taking advantage of the obtainedevaluation system, based on the status of modern logistics industry andthe industrial structure’s development in Shanghai, the promoter actionof Shanghai’s modern logistics industry on industrial structure isthoroughly analyzed from which the conclusion can be drawn thatmodern logistics development in Shanghai will be playing anincreasingly important role in industrial structure optimization. ChapterFive: Using empirical research to emphasis the great role of modernlogistics industrial are playing during the development of industrialstructure of Shanghai. Chapter Six: Based on the analysis results, usefulcountermeasures and suggestions are proposed. Chapter Seven:Conclusion and research prospect.
