Cognizant is an international software out-sourcing company, which headquarter located in U.S., and the biggest research and development center in india. Cognizant opened his branch in Shang hai in2005, it has past seven years in china. It has a rapid growth with the fierce competence in the industrial environment. Now it faces the neck of development, it is necessary to make the analysisi for competitive strategy. Then confirm the competive strategy and make relative resolutions.We use PEST model to analysis the macro environment and use porter’s five force model to analysis the competitive structure. After analyze, we know the opportunity and threat of exterior environment.Following are the opportunities:china encourage the development of software outsource industry by law. The sacle of the market is huge. It has a high rate of growth, and has a broad perspective of growth and high prophit.Following is the threat:the competition is high, the rivival has a strong competency, the Currency of RMB is rising, the cost of labor is rising.We use the value chain to analysis the resource and competency,after that, we got know the strengthes and weaknesses. The strengths are:company has a special culuture and good infrastructure and strong service ability, and spend much time and money in training,The Weaknesses are:The brand of cognizant is not well known in china, the scale of company is not large.Through SWOT and comparative analysis, this thesis concludes that Cognizant china must adopt the differentiation strategy to be able to gain super profits in the competition. For the differentiation strategy strategy to implement effectively, Cognizant china should focus on the following areas:keep the high operational ability and effectivenss of executive, special makerting and sales, differentiation sevice. Then, it necessary to take some measures to support the strategy, there are Construct the strategy orgnization to ensure the implementation of the strategy, Shape special culture to drive the strategy, Enhance the construction of human resource system, Enhance technology development, Special in purchases to match the strategy, Financial function to support strategyThis study not only helps foster the core competitiveness of Cognizant company to make it unbeatable in the fierce market competition, but also, with its conclusions, provides a model for reference and guidance for companies in the slag powder industry to develop their own competitive strategy.
