The theory of corporate culture, as a new management thought, was initially practiced in Japan and later concluded and proposed by the European and American scholars, and introduced into China in the1980s. With the increasing competition of market economy, the corporate culture is playing a more prominent role in business competition. The enterprise that has a strong cultural superiority will be able to win in the fierce market competition. The21st century is also known as the era of "winning on culture", thus there are urgent needs for many enterprises to gain competitive advantage through strengthening the corporate culture construction.There are two common cultural characteristics among excellent domestic and overseas enterprises:one is that the concept is correct and distinctive; the other is that the implementation is thorough and inherent. In this connection, do a good job in corporate culture is just one thing, namely the establishment of the concept and stick to it for a long time. The foremost key and difficult is culture landing. Culture landing covers the substance of thoughts landing, mechanism landing, implementation landing, image landing and brand landing. The objectives of culture landing can be summarized as "five inputs and one output", namely brain input, heart input, system input, behavior input, format input and performance output. The realization of culture landing needs to build a perfect working system, including such four aspects as the organization system, the training system, the communication system and the monitoring system.There is currently few academics study on the corporate cultural construction of the securities companies in China. This thesis explores the corporate culture construction of the20-years-old China Merchants Securities. The thesis first illustrates the research background and methods of corporate culture and the primary framework, followed by the introduction of the concept of corporate culture, the function, the key and difficult, and cultural landing from the view of point of general theory of corporate culture. Later on, the thesis analyzes the status of the corporate culture of China Merchants Securities, summarizes up the advantages of the corporate culture in China Merchants Securities through questionnaires and interviews and focuses on the identification of the existing problems and shortcomings, and analyzes the main causes of these problems. On this basis, the thesis proposes the corresponding solutions for the specific problems. Finally, the thesis proposes several thoughts on the study of corporate culture among the Chinese securities industry from the start point of China Merchants Securities.According to the analysis of this thesis, the existing problems of the corporate culture construction of China Merchants Securities include the imperfect cultural concept and landing system, as well as lack of strong sense of belonging among securities broker team. The causes of those problems include the lack of knowledge and understanding of corporate culture among the management and employees, the lack of medium-and long-term strategic planning, and the challenges of organizational structure and employment system. This thesis proposes the recommendations for improvement that include:the improvement of the concept system, the organization system and the training system and the establishment of a monitoring system under the guidance of "respecting history, viewing the current situation, looking for future and following the implementation of the company’s strategy "; the drafting of three-years and medium-to-long-term corporate culture construction plans and advancing progressively; the studying on the common industry difficulties such as organizational structure and the employment system and the searching of effective measures to tackle those difficulties.There are obvious originations in this thesis:the angles of the working system construction and the culture landing for analyzing the corporate culture construction of financial institutions, the systematic presentation of the system framework of corporate culture landing, the fresh perspective, operational and reproducible significance. This thesis has a certain referential value for the corporate culture construction for other domestic securities companies as it analyzes the causes of existing problems of corporate culture construction China Merchants Securities and proposes the improving measures from the perspective of the general industry practices.
