With China’s rapid economic development, the rapid expansion of urbanization,the contradictions of urban construction and land resources has become increasinglyprominent, the Chinese people is much less tension in arable land, our land use isrelatively extensive, so the process of building in the town intensive land use isparticularly important.Small town is the transition zone of the urban and rural areas, is to undertake thespillover of urban functions of the reservoir, small towns, intensive use of land caneffectively alleviate the problem of urban land pressure and environmentaldegradation, and promote the coordinated development of urban and rural economies.Has obvious economic, social and ecological effects of the intensive use of land, itcan not only optimize land use structure, improve land utilization and land output rateof the small towns, but also improve the ecological environment, thereby enhancingthe competitiveness of the entire city, to promote land sustainable use of resources,socio-economic sustainable development. Therefore, in order to ease the contradictionbetween urban construction and land resources, and promote the economic, social andecological environment in comprehensive, coordinated, sustainable development,small towns intensive land use are very important.This study is carried out in the above context, this article is divided into fiveparts, the first part describes the background and significance of the topic, integrationReview of related research, a brief introduction of this study content, study and thefocus of this study, difficult; in the second part of the concept and content of theintensive land use in small towns, summarized and elaborated on the theoretical basisfor intensive land use in the small towns; third part analyzes rongjiawan town landuse status, summarized the characteristics and problems of land use and theestablishment of veterans homes bay intensive use of land evaluation system todetermine the veterans’ home land intensive utilization of bay; the fourth sectiondescribes the developed countries to promote small towns intensive use of landexperience, refining the reference. The fifth part, based on evaluation results, refer toforeign experiences to put forward countermeasures and suggestions of improving theto Rongjiawan intensive use of land status quo.
