During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, manufactoring industry in China developed rapidly, and the huge manufactoring volume made China "the Factory of the World" in reality as well in name. However, the general level of manufactoring industry still lags behind and stays in the low-end link of the global value chain, which is mainly caused by the lack of independent innovation capability. With the arrival of knowledge economy time, knowledge capital replaces traditional capital and becomes the key factor promoting economy development. The process of technology innovation is actually the process of knowledge production. To study the technology innovation capacity of enterprises, the key point is to study the influence of knowledge investment on innovation in the process of knowledge production. Therefore, this thesis employs the methods of statistic analysis and empirical analysis to study the influence of knowledge investment on innovation output of manufactoring enterprises from the perspective of knowledge output. The main contents include:First, this section states the research background and signifiance, explains research methods and ideas and analyses innovations.Second, this section discoveries that previous research into mostly effect of knowledge input on business economic and bases on the macro data by summaring domestic and foreign literature. According to these deficiencies, this paper determines the research object and subject.Third, this section determines the index of knowledge input and innovation output by analysising of knowledge production theory, in order to provide the theory reference.Forth, this section according to the authoritative data, this thesis analyzes the development tendency of knowledge investment and innovation output in manufactoring enterprises of China from the Tenth Five-Year Plan to the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. It is found out technology investment is increased and R&D investment and patent output are highly leveled up under the national policies and macro-control, but manufacoring industry still lacks independent research ability and high-level human resources.Fifth, this section based on micro data of enterprises, this thesis discusses the influence of knowledge scale investment index and R&D technology investment index on patent output. In this chapter, the methods of descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis are employed, and accumulative patent application number and annual patent application number are used as explained variables. Regression structure shows that R&D technology investment is the most important influential factor promoting innovation output, and scale investment effects under certain conditions.Lastly, the section summarizes on the text of this paper, brings forward aspects needed to inprove technolgy innovation of China’s manufacturing enterprise, and proposes prospect to the future direction of development.
