Based On The Theory Of Industry Economics And The Analysis Of Triple Play In China Alignment And Its Influence

With the rapid development of science and technology, theinformation transfer technology continues to improve. The need of usersfor a variety of business is increasing. Traditional tools such as television,computer and telephone for the transmission of information is narrowingthe boundary slowly now. Now a smart phone will be able to achieveone’s communication, surfing internet, watching television programsand other requirements. The three networks (telecom, internet andcable television network) which is operated independently before arenow continuously integrating through a variety of ways and means.While the technology and business of the three major industries is alsointegrating. As the information industry convergence phenomenon firstemerge in Europe, America and other countries, triple play twists andturns in the course of development of our country. At the beginning, ourgovernment followed the U.S. to promote the development of tripleplay, and later turned against. Recent years, the government has beenintroduction of policies to accelerate the development of triple play. Asthe information industry developing trends, triple play are profoundlychanging the three major industries, tend to make the industrialstructure more complex and the industry boundaries more blurred. Thistrend has far-reaching effects to the industrial organization and hasattracted great attention from academia and the government. Thereare few studies on the triple play of our country, and most of them aretheoretical studies.This paper will first summarize the relevant literature to collatemethods and results of previous studies, and draw the direction of thisstudy. Then introduce the concept of triple play and the developmentprocess of triple play in China. Let us know the specific circumstances ofthe development of triple play in our country. Secondly, this paper will collect Chinas computer,telecommunications and cable TV companies sample data from thecompanies which are listed at home and abroad. Then use theHerfindahl index method to do the empirical research for the technicalintegration of triple play in our country and analyze the reasons of thesituation.Thirdly, this paper will use the SCP paradigm to analyze the impactof the triple play on the industrial organization. And the analysis willconclude the impact on market structure, the impact on businessbehavior and the impact on market performance. In analyzing theimpact of triple play on market performance, the paper will use thedata of Chinas triple play for empirical analysis.Finally, I will draw the conclusions, and point out the shortages ofresearch and give recommendations for the follow-up study.
