Urbanization In Yunnan Province Regional Difference Analysis

Urbanization is the objective law of development of human society is animportant foundation to accelerate regional economic development. Scientific andrational evaluation of the regional level of urbanization, require comprehensivequantitative analysis of the status of a regional urban development, in order tofacilitate the timely detection of problems in the urbanization process, targeted totake measures to regulate. Yunnan as a backward province in western China, a largepopulation, despite entering the new century, the economic development achievedimpressive results, level of urbanization has also been greatly improved, but its levelof urbanization and the country and the eastern coastal provinces there are still awide gap, and the province of each city urban development has shown greatimbalance. Therefore, to grasp the objective laws, the situation in the province,Yunnan Province, the status of the process of urbanization and city development, fullspeed up the the Yunnan urbanization, has important practical significance.The connotation of urbanization, introduction, an overview of the basic theory ofurbanization: location theory, regional non-balanced development of theory and thegeneral laws of urban development, introduced the measure of the level ofurbanization. Review of relevant theory and an overview of our understanding of theproblems of urbanization and understanding deepened, laid the theoretical foundationfor the later empirical analysis. This article believe that urbanization is a rich,comprehensive, multidimensional and complex process, not just the non-farmpopulation to cities, it is the process of non-agricultural industries to cities; not justthe city itself in the economic, social, technological and the development ofenvironmental protection and other aspects of the evolution of the city to drivearound the regional development, urban civilization and urban way of life continue tospread around the process. Based on this, on the basis of the Review of a largenumber of domestic and foreign research results, Yunnan Province,16City as aresearch unit, from Yunnan Statistical Yearbook2011"based on data, select the22 indicators, built up to reflect the urbanization develop the economy, science andtechnology, culture, population, environmental protection, social security andresidents’ living standards of many indicators system. With SPSS statistical analysissoftware, the use of factor analysis, rank correlation analysis and cluster analysismethods, the status of the regional differences in the level of urbanization in YunnanProvince, the empirical analysis and comprehensive evaluation and draw basicconclusions: the level of urbanization area of Yunnan Province The difference is huge,urban development is very uneven. Comprehensive evaluation of urbanization scorethe level of Yunnan Province,16City is divided into three categories, namelyKunming alone for the first class; Qujing, Yuxi, Lijiang, and Honghe for the secondclass; the rest of City for the third class.Based on the above classification, combined with qualitative analysis, then theYunnan Province, urbanization level regional differences in the reasons discussedfrom the natural resource endowments, population distribution, level of economicdevelopment and traditional cultural values.
