Research On The Interactive Development Of China’s Bohai Port Group And Regional Economy

With the deepening of global international trade, ports are playing anirreplaceable role in regional economic exchanges. As engines of the nationaleconomy, the existing three port groups in China have driven the integration ofregional economy. From the rise of Pearl River Delta in1980s to the prosperity ofYangtze River delta in1990s, with the access into21century, the Bohai port group isfacing historical opportunity for development. Either can it grasp the opportunity tocontinue the miracle of China’s economy, not only relates to the development of thenorth China, also affects the layout of global trade.The development of port group needs correct guidance of national policies.What’s more, a perfect internal evolution mechanism is also essential. Therelationship between port group and regional economic is the result of “port-city”evolution, the interaction between the two on the one hand is a major index tomeasure the “growth pole effect” of port group; on the other hand, it’s an importantbasis to analyze the future trend of the group. This article, based on the port andregional related economic theories to explain the evolution of the port group and theendogenous growth mechanism of regional economy, and combine the two, discussesthe relationship of port group and regional economy——the port group can promotethe development of regional economy; meanwhile, regional economy can providenecessary production factors and market for port to support the evolution of the portgroup. Based on the above, the article makes a empirical research on the Bohai portgroup: on the one hand, we measure the contribution the Bohai port group made to theregional economy; On the other hand, by dividing the hinterland of Bohai port group,we find out the major economic factors that influence the ports. With the help ofeconomics software, we can predict the trend of the port group in the future.Meanwhile, the experience of typical foreign port group (including the New York-New Jersey port group, the Europe port group and the Japan Tokyo port group)has provided a positive reference to the development of the Bohai port group, such as"ports alliance","division and cooperation"," separation of government andenterprise ","port privatization" and "financing diversification".With fierce competition on the international Marine resources, the efficiency ofthe resources determines the future pattern of the word economy. During this period,the Bohai port group should make a reasonable international orientation and focus onglobal competition; comply with the rule of market development, and to carry outinternal resource integration of port group actively; Coordinate the interaction of portgroup and regional economy, and regard the regional economy as the ports’ powerfulsupport. Looking ahead, the Bohai region will be a remarkable economic pole inChina.
