An Investigation On The Dynamical Mechanism Of Suburb Urbanization In Xi’an

Suburb situates in the intersection part of city and countryside, which not only is the basicpoint of a city’s echelon structure, but also the centre of rural economical society. Enhancingthe development of suburb urbanization helps significantly in the optimization and revision ofeconomical structure, and in seeking a resolution for issues concerning agriculture,countryside and farmers; besides, it’s the inner demands of the scientifical development of theeconomical society in our country.Former researches on the dynamical mechanism of suburb urbanization focus on therelationship of economical development and urbanization on a macro level, which hardlypresent reasons, ways and methods between the two. With a thorough analysis on the conceptand features of suburb urbanization, this article tries to recognize its connotation. By asystematical review of concerning definitions and theories of suburb urbanization and itsdynamic mechanism, this article researches on the theoretical framework of the dynamicsystem of urbanization, from the perspectives of Regional Economics, Industrial Economics,Economics for Development. Based on both theoretical and empirical analysis, it also intendsto make a scientifical judgment on the influential factors on the dynamical mechanism ofsuburb urbanization by applying the econometric model.Researching on the suburb urbanization in Xi’an, this article analyses the situation andproblems encountered in the urbanization process, and points out that although the level ofurbanization is improving year after year, but there are no substantial progress: urbanizationincoordinates with industrialization; and the main problem is the low proportion of tertiaryindustry. This article conducts an empirical analysis on six factors selected from fourperspectives of influential factors, such as economical factor, industrial structure factor,investigation factor and infrastructure factor. During the analytical process, in order to avoidthe problem of multicollinearity, it first conducts a principal component analysis on the sixfactors, extracts two factors, and then carries out a regression analysis, and obtains a regressionequation. The empirical analysis shows that GDP per capita, also known as the economicalfactor, is the most important factor for the suburb urbanization in Xi’an, The added value ofsecondary industry and tertiary industry correlates positively with the proportion of suburburbanization. Fixed assets investigation of the whole society relates weakly with suburburbanization, which means investigation has some significance in the proportion of urbanization. Infrastructure contributes little to suburb urbanization, so it can be neglected inthe present research. Based on the above analysis, this article diagnoses the dynamic system ofurbanization with the example of Wei Yang District in the Northern Suburb of Xi’an City. Bycomparing the phenomenon of suburb urbanization home and abroad, it also analysesexperience and enlightenment. At last, the article brings practical solutions and suggestions tothe problems encountered in the process of suburb urbanization from six aspects of scientificaldistribution, optimazition of industrial structure, enhancement of investigation, pullingfunction of development area, emphasis on resource flow, and the rational utilization of earth,the in-depth structure reform and improving infrastructure, and it conducts an preliminaryexploration for ways of enhancing a healthy development of suburb urbanization in Xi’an.
