China’s Modern Industrial Heritage Tourism Development Path

There are large of industrial heritage sites in our country with different distin-ctive features, but overall, it is yet not enough emphasis on the industrial heritag-e protection efforts, even many industrial sites in a semi-desert state. This paperis based on the development and practical needs of nowaday’s modern industrial her-itage urgent protection, will pay more attention to the modern industrial heritag-e (1884-1949), by taking the Shanghai YangpuRiverside industrial heritage, which is an accordingly typical model, as a representative specific case. Tourism develop-ment has many big advantages, such as the high incidental effect, low developm-ent investment, the deep level of protection, and the deep influence to the people’sl ivelihood, which can become the best way to protect morden industrial herita-ge. Therefore, author choose the tourism development path for the angle, obtain fi-rsthand information on the modern industrial development of heritage tourism by deep interviews and comparative study, and made in-depth empirical research with development models, development strategies and product design a system, in or-der to providing a idea to the protection of industrial heritage, economic transfor mation of old industrial areas, function upgrades.The full text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction section to introduce the reasons of study, the significance of research, research i-deas and methods. Second chapter is the related definition, literature and concepts. The third chapter described the typical case of industrial heritage tourism in demo stic and foreign in detail. Fourth chapter is the empirical research component in t-he analysis of resources of Shanghai Yangpu riverside with tourism development pat-h, including the position of development, development model, development strat egy, and product systemdesign on the basis of the industrial heritage resource an alysis. Fifth chapter is the study conclusion. Based on domestic and international t-ypical case and empirical research, author gived some conclusions and policy re-commendations. The research findings show that the modern industrial heritage tourism develo-pment should firstly seize the advantage, and fasten the theme of tourism develop-ment position. On the basis of a clear positioning, select a specific pattern of dev-elopment and opening-up strategy, design and develop the modern industrial herit-age tourism according the internal and external environmental characteristics, b-ackground conditions and other factors.
