| With the slowdown in domestic crude oil extraction, the government is continuously strengthening its crude oil imports to meet the domestic demand. Foreign trade in crude oil imports is also growing stronger. An important logistical node in the maritime transportation network chain is hub ports. These ports undertake a very pivotal role in modem logistics. With crude oil shipping capacity increasing yearly, they face harder development problems but they are experiencing diversified opportunities. Meanwhile, the impact on downstream petrochemical enterprises is becoming more difficult to assess as the ports develop their new found business models.Tianjin Port is the major port in the north of China and is adapting to this new era in crude oil economic development through practical measures. At the same time it is protecting the security of the national oil supply through both the development and expansion of its crude oil business.Based on the theory of strategic management and the port industry characteristics, this paper aims to systematically analyze the internal and external environment of the Tianjin Port Group crude oil business system. It also aims to show the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to Tianjin Port Group’s crude oil business via a detailed SWOT analysis. Tianjin Port Group’s crude oil business strategic positioning, strategic objectives, and relevant strategic implementation measures are also put forward in this paper.Through the Empirical Study of Tianjin Port Group’s crude oil business development strategy, this paper will explore the ideas and methodology of port enterprises crude oil business development strategic research. It will also show port enterprise development strategies research ideas as useful references in regards to future port business development strategic studies. |
