Research On Chongqing Port Competition Strategy Based On The Game Theory

Customs clearance cost and port transit costs are accounted for higher proportion ofthe Chongqing logistics cost. Comparing to other transportation way, the advantage ofChongqing water transportation is gradually become weaker. The comparison betweenLuzhou port and Chongqing port is valuable, because the two ports are not only similarat the dock type, topography condition, channel situation and so on, but also they areboth in the upper reaches of Yangtze river. More important in this comparison is that,asa provincial port, Chongqing port is larger, having better hardware facilities and higherintensive degree, but compared to Luzhou port of Sichuan province, the price advantageof Chongqing is offset, and the advantage is not obvious, even do not exist. In theimperfect competition market environment, such as the port, using game theory toanalysis and decision for port competition, put forwards countermeasures for thecompetition development of Chongqing port.First of all, this paper expounds the basic knowledge of the game theory, analyzesthe connotation of the port competition and the industrial organization theory, and usesthe industrial organization theory to explain the competitive market theory and theequilibrium curve. Second, according to a large number of literatures, this papersummarizes the main effect factors for port competitiveness, according to the principlesof evaluation index system, it establishes the index system structure, and uses theentropy to sort the index. Because the most port competitiveness index can’t bequantified by the specific numbers, so according to the preceding summarizes of themain effect factors for port competitiveness, this paper uses the comprehensiveevaluation method to evaluate the port competitiveness, and only by this, the evaluationresult errors by subjective factors can be avoided as far as possible. And then based onthe index sorting, it use the Converse. P. D breaking point model to determine theattractive range of Chongqing port. Finally, it establishes port cooperation andnon-cooperative game model, and according to the present situation of Chongqing portand the competitive environment of Chongqing port and Luzhou port, it puts forwardcountermeasures for the development of Chongqing port. This paper analyzes Chongqing port competition strategy, it has rich and perfectthe competition theory and application of Chongqing port, the paper results have certaintheoretical and practical significance.
