Case Study On Welding-Quality Management In Multi-project Of Nuclear Power Company X

Currently energy shortage has been widespread around the major countries in the world; and great efforts have been made to develop nuclear-power plants in response to the appeal of energy conservation, environment protection and reduction of greenhouse gases emission. China is vigorously developing clean energy and the construction of nuclear-power plants is mainly concentrated. In such a circumstance, the industry of nuclear-power-plant construction has shown great opportunities. Nevertheless, due to the disaster threat of the nuclear-power-plant accidents, the quality management in the construction and operation of nuclear-power plants deserves attention.Welding quality management is all the measures we take to get qualified weld in line with expectation. The problem of welding quality management in multi-project is inevitable in the massive development of nuclear power construction. The quality of welding is critical for the quality of the entire nuclear-power plant project. Company X is the first specialized company in nuclear energy construction and management in China, so the problem of Company X is representative and the case study on this company may have reference value for other companies in quality management of multi-project management.Based on previous research results, this thesis uses the theories of project organization and environment, multi-project management, structure of project organization, to give a case study on the multi-project welding quality management in Company X and consequently provide management solutions for improvements. By combining theory with practice, the research explores the major problems exist in the multi-project management in Company X and analyses the corresponding reasons that leads to the problems. The major problems include the more difficult of welding quality management in multi-project, the welding risk with the equipment localization process, serious dilution and shortage of welding quality management personnel and the changes of external environment. Finally, the author combines the company’s management system with internal and external environment, puts forward the following advice:establishing the management platform for welding quality management in multi-project, enhancing experience feedback and exchange, strengthening the supervision and assistance, strengthening the nuclear safety culture training strengthening the nuclear science popularization and the correct guidance of public opinion for the upstream and downstream enterprises.
