The Research Of The Effects Of External Social Capital On Knowledge Transfer Of University-Industry Cooperation

With the continuous development of knowledge economy, the ability of getting knowledge resource has become one of the key factors to enhance competitiveness for enterprises. However, most of the enterprises can’t own every key knowledge resource in the internal. Therefore, transferring new knowledge from the outside to minimize the cost and risk and obtain sustainable knowledge resources has become a unique choice for an enterprise. In this context, university-industry cooperation becomes an effective way to the acquisition, accumulation and using of knowledge for enterprise.This paper discusses the relationship between social capital and such knowledge transfer impacting factors, and the impact of the the effect of knowledge transfer, purposing to explain the mechanism of how the external social capital of the enterprise affects knowledge transfer under the cooperation background. Under today’s backdrop of University-Industry cooperation, this paper is of theoretical and practical significance to University-Industry cooperation knowledge transfer.This study carried out a large-scale survey of183enterprises, and did factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis by using SPSS13.0software. The results of empirical analysis have partly confirmed some theoretical analysis of scholars, and at the same time the paper gets a number of different conclusions. The mainly conclusions are as follows:(1) The impact of the strength of structure, the level of trust and cognitive on university-industry cooperation knowledge transfer is not direct.The opportunity, motivation and absorptive capacity of enterprise play the rule of mediator.(2)The cognitive dimension does not have a significant impact on the opportunities and motivation of absorbing knowledge and it only affects the absorption ability significantly.(3)The strength of structure, the level of trust and cognitive among enterprises, universities and research institutes, have impact on the effect of knowledge transfer significantly for enterprises.The important findings concluded from above analysis have some important instructional implication. It can provide the corresponding policy guidance for Chinese university-industry cooperation:(1) Encourage enterprises to rationalize resources and strengthen the relationship with universities and research institutes actively.(2)Encourage enterprises to strengthen the internal R&D staff skills training, exchanges actively, and enhance the understanding about the common goal, in order to reduce cooperative conflict.(3)Encourage enterprises to pay attention to the quality of relationship between research institutes and universities to enhance the effectiveness of knowledge transfer.
