A Study On Relationship Of Information Technology Capability, Knowledge Management Capability And Supply Chain Performance

The perspective of knowledge and knowledge management is a research hotspotin recent years, with the development of supply chain (SC) and SC management anddevelopment, the supply chain has also been high valued by a lot of enterprises inpractice. Many scholars on supply chain and knowledge management have carried outextensive research, but few studies combine the two. This study is based on theresource-based view, combines with relevant theoretical knowledge, defines theknowledge category in the supply chain, the relationship between IT capability, theability of KM and SC performance were studied. We adopt the method of empiricalresearch and collected data through questionnaires. And the paper concluded result ofthe study from the data processing.This study, through the empirical research，has verified the relationship betweenIT capability and SC performance, and on this basis，tested the ability of KMmediating effect on the relationship between IT capability and SC performance.Through the review of the relevant literature, this paper divides the KM capabilityinto four processes: knowledge acquisition, knowledge flow, knowledge flow andtransformation process protection knowledge application process. Respectivelystudies the effect of the four segmentation process on the relationship between ITcapability and SC performance, establishes a theory framework of the relationshipbetween IT capability, KM ability and the performance of SC, and puts forward thehypothesis. H1: IT capability has positive impact on SC performance. H2: KMcapability has positive impact on SC performance. H3: the ability of IT SC hasobvious positive impact on KM capability. H4: the ability of KM in SC plays amediating role between IT capability and performance.In the analysis and discussion of the theoretical model and hypothesis testing,the data collection is the main way of questionnaire investigation, using the questionnaire design of scale are developed by foreign scholars and mature testingtable, with strong scientific nature, the questionnaire has been distributed to enterprisemanagement issue after designing, and recovering, selected and eliminated to getcredible data resources. On this basis, we use SPSS18.0to analyze the questionnairedata. In dealing with the questionnaire data, we use descriptive statistical analysis toquestionnaire data sources and answer questionnaire to test the reliability and validityof the scale, correlation analysis and regression analysis, the relationship between thevariables were tested, and the hypotheses are valid by the test.According to the survey results, the paper concludes some important research:(1) The ability of IT has obvious positive impact on SC performance, which hasa direct impact on SC performance, to enhance the ability of SC IT can improve theefficiency of SC management.(2) The ability of KM has positive impact on SC performance, to enhance theability of KM in SC can improve the ability of technology innovation, improve theflexibility of the close cooperation with member enterprises, and enhance the abilityto adapt to the environment.(3) The ability of IT SC has obviously positive impact on KM ability, that is，theability of IT can optimize the SC knowledge acquisition, knowledge transfer,knowledge protection and knowledge application process, to improve the ability ofKM.(4) The ability of KM plays a mediating role apparently between the ITcapabilities and performance of SC, knowledge flow, knowledge transfer process,knowledge protection process and knowledge application process play anintermediary role apparently between the ability of IT and SC performance, it weakenthe ability of IT in the impact on SC performance the role of KM capacity, the abilityof KM play an partially intermediary role apparently. It can be said that the ability ofSC IT can directly affect the performance of the SC, and also through KM capabilitiesindirectly affect the SC performance.The conclusion of the study, puts out the rationalization proposals for themanagement of the SC performance, and for the lack of this study also puts forwardfor future research. Not only provides a new perspective for the study of KM in SCmanagement, but also provides the Chinese enterprises to participate in international competition a new way to enhance the competitive strength.
