With the accelerating process of urbanization and industrialization, the contradiction betweenthe demand and supply of construction land continued to increase. The growth of populationresults in the continued expansion of demand for food production and construction land, whichleads to abundant cultivated land occupied or inefficient used, the contradiction between man andland highlights. Since the reform and opening police, the pressure of Shanxi Province on thefarming land is becoming larger and larger with the population growth and the rapid development ofurbanization. A large number of cultivated land was occupied by kinds of constructions, which ledthe quantities of cultivated land declined. The resource of cultivated land faces with a series ofproblems, such as limited resources of the cultivated land per capita, poor land quality anddeficiency of the backup resource. Yuncheng city as a traditional agriculture area of ShanxiPorvince, is considered to be one of regions which have most advantage and development potentialdue to the sustained and rapid development of economy. At the same time, the food security, social stability and ecological quality of the environment of Yuncheng city and even ShanxiProvince are seriously threatened by the pressure of inefficient use of the cultivated land, environmental pollution and structural adjustment. This Paper deeply understands related theories and the research condition of intensive land useat home and abroad, defines the concept on the basis of correlation research. Take an example ofthe13counties of Yuncheng city for the evaluation of intensive land use, analysing the problemsand the causes of intensive land use in Yuncheng city. Use the PSR Model building evaluationsystem of intensive use of land measured by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Entropymethod for land use intensity. The results show that intensive degree of intensive land use haveobvious regional differentiation characteristics and lowed integrity level, while influences byregional natural conditions in Yuncheng city. The status of cultivated land is good, but investmentin cultivated land is obviously insufficient. On the basis of reasonable analysis, the paper proposesrelated disposition measure in promoting intensive use of arable land in Yuncheng city.
