In the context of economic globalization and regional economicintergration,there are more and more economies seeking for industrial division andcooperation between regions.For the purpose of the maximum profit in the wholearea,they complement each other with advantages or associate between strongenterprises.Bohai Coastal Region has solid industrial foundation, convenienttransportation network, and wide hinterland area. As a must pass from northeast Chinaand Inner Mongolia to abroad, it is very important to cooperate the industry of thisarea in harmony by means of high efficiency distribution of resources andoptimization of the industrial structure.From the perspectives of physical geography and social economy,this articleanalyses the base of industry division and development,and calculate the similaritycoefficient and location quotient to reflect the similarity of industrial structure andregional specialization. The results show that industry isomorphism is still obvious,and harmony cooperation between areas has not been formed. Communication andcooperation should be strengthened between administrative districts, to break throughterritorial restrictions and form a huge market with smooth flow of productive factors.There are some successful cases of industrial division and cooperation in Chinaand abroad, which has meaningful experience to the research. As well, there are someproblems which hinder the process of division and cooperation. Therefore, based onthe experience and analysis, this article summarizes the pattern for the industrydevelopment of the Bohai Coastal Region and how to realize the pattern.
