The paper sorting result of rudder roller defines the efficiency and quality of paperadvance mechanism, and then has important implications for office and financialequipment. The choice of materials for rubber roller is the key technology what puzzlesthe production manufacturers. In China, the reliability technology of paper sorting islacking in media transmission system. Under this background, the present dissertationstudied on the effect of rubber roller’s material on the result of paper sorting.Firstly, the properties of paper and rubber roller materials are discussed. Basis ofthe separate wheel point paper model, mechanics and kinematics are analyzed. On thebase of the tribology principle contact mechanics model is established between paperand rudder roller. The analysis results show that, rubber roller and paper friction coeffi-cient is main connection between rubber roller materials and paper sorting result.Secondly, an experimental platform is set up to test the friction coefficient betweenrubber roller and paper, determine the design plan by comparing the instrument used tomeasure friction coefficient and testing method of rubber roller, design the structure byusing Pro/E software, build the control system based the ARM processor as the core,and developed the PC interface with operation/analysis/database by using LABVIEWsoftware. The basic function of the experimental platform and expansibility function isdescribed.At lastly, experimental data are analyzed, by use of MATLAB software functionlinear combination fitting to get fitting formula of pressure and the roller friction coeffi-cient in different speeds. The results not only conform to the error range but also com-ply with requirements material characteristics. In order to prove the influence of rubberroller materials to paper sorting effect, separation wheel points paper simulation modelis built by use of RECURDYN/MTT2D kit. By using a single variable method, simula-tion parameters are set as coefficient/speed/spring preloading. The simulation resultsplay a directive role to actual application.
