With the rapid development of the gear processing industry, the measurementaccuracy of the gear measuring center must meet the actual demand for gearmeasurement, in order to keep up with the market demand of the gear measuringcenter at home and abroad, to cancel the ball screw, belt and other mechanicaltransmission, direct drive technology has become the development trend of domesticgear measuring center.Gear measuring center used the rotary motor and plus ball screw servo systemhas the disadvantage of system stiffness, slow response and elastic deformation, tosolve this problem, this thesis takes use of direct drive servo system instead of theoriginal system. As a result of using the direct drive servo system, cancelled theintermediate transmission link, the control accuracy of the numerical control systemrequirement is higher. Therefore, the direct drive control system of gear measuringcenter based on Turbo PMAC2motion controller which uses double-loop analogoutput control is proposed. Three linear axis are driven by Parker I-Force direct drivelinear motors and Copley drives and the revolving axis is driven by Kollmorgendirect drive rotary motor and SANMOTION drives. The linear axis and rotary axisrespectively use high precision long grating and circular grating as position feedback.In order to monitor and control the real-time status of each axis, the dynamic linklibrary which is used to computer communication with the controller is developed.Motion programs and PLC programs are written in order to ensure the normaloperation of the gear measuring center, which include probe protection, high or lowspeed and joystick movement and so on.This thesis measures gear standard sample to check precision of the improvedgear measuring center, and experiment results show that the direct drive system meets the measurement performance. The improved gear measuring center has verygood improvements on the control ability, control accuracy and stability compared tothe old one.
