The Research Of Public Housing In Elder-suitable Residential Design

Ageing of the population makes taking care of the elders a more difficultproblem． China has large population． With the enforcement of family planning，our population ages very quickly． Providing for the aged becomes a common socialproblem． The proposal of affordable housing policy is to resolve the housingproblem for middle and low income group． Housing is also the key to solveelder-care issues． Elders and aged family make up big part of the middle-low incomegroup． To look after those elderly with economic difficulties, it is incumbent uponthe government to ensure their housing．This paper connect housing problem for the aged people with affordable housingpolicy．After the analysis of the affordable housing for the aged in developedcountries and regions， considering the reality of China， we propose some policysuggestions． The government should pay attention to the elderly group and theirfamilies, enact housing policy that’s in favor of the old people． We propose to buildelder-suitable residences in public rental housing to solve the housing problem of theelderly group． Through extensive survey and data analysis, we obtained theproportion for elder-suitable residences． This research can provide certain datasupport for the proportion of redesigning common residence into elder-suitableresidences． Based on this，we study the design of affordable houses for agedpeople． To do so， we surveyed the status of affordable housing construction inmajor cities and researched advanced design of house for the aged． We also proposedirections for future development．...
