Study on the development of some large cities at home and abroad showed that suburbandevelopment and construction is a common pattern in urbanization of Metro, ease one of theimportant ways to alleviate urban traffic congestion and resident-employment. With the rapiddevelopment China’s reform of land, housing and public transport, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjingand other more significant changes have taken place in most suburb, in the course of thisdevelopment, residents of suburban commuter-related issues and development for the entire city,suburban commuter traffic problems have become increasingly prominent. Against thisbackground, this suburb of Nanjing, for example, macro-and microscopic point of view, basedon the theoretical research on urban spatial evolution characteristics of most residents ofsuburban commuter, to develop practical urban transport policies in most of my suburb isparticularly important.Firstly,summarized most suburban commuter transport research at home and abroad,research and research direction, building a whole of research methods, research papers andresearch framework, provide a basis for thesis research;Secondly,from a macro-level, focuseson evolution characteristics and the evolution of spatial development of Metropolitansuburb,reveals the spatial characteristics of Metropolitan suburb from spacedevelopment;Thirdly,analysis of the spatial structure of Nanjing suburbs, research on practicalemployment-living ratio associated with the average commute time and average commutingdistance, testing the self-sufficiency index on relations of resident-employment; Fourthly,exploring in-depth suburb of Nanjing residents commuting patterns,and using the logit model,research and modeling on Nanjing suburb commuter travel and travel chain choice and testingthe model accuracy.Draw the basic relationship is the relationship between urban and rural inthe city suburb,the overall characteristics of urban and rural integration; Actualemployment--balanced the relationship between live help reduce commuting time andcommuting distance of suburban residents,vocational integration, the higher the lower theregional vocational degrees of separation;Family income, level of education, sex on commutertravel chain choice from work has a significant impact.
