Sweeper truck as a kind of road sanitation equipment is widely used in arterial road and urban road cleaning. Sweeper truck is a kind of high-efficient road sanitation equipment, which has multiple functions including road cleaning, garbage collection and transportation. However, problems of energy shortage and environmental crisis are increasingly more serious. Traditional sweeper truck’s poor economy, emission, and its loud noise are becoming the bottle-neck of its development. It’s the trend of auto industry that developing energy efficiency and environmental protection sweeper truck. The research on hybrid sweeper truck is profound.Vehicle control unit of hybrid sweeper truck is the key component of vehicle control system, which is also the key technology of vehicle control system. The performance of vehicle control unit has important effects on vehicle performance. The research on vehicle control unit is benefit of improving the degree of mechatronics and intelligence of sweeper truck.In this paper, a new-type designing scheme of hybrid sweeper truck and its control scheme were proposed. The vehicle control strategy was established based on the functional requirements of sweeper truck. CAN bus application layer protocol was drew up based on SAE J1939standard. The hardware system of vehicle control unit was designed. Circuit of hardware system was designed, which included micro control unit MC9S12DG128and its minimum circuit system, signals acquisition module, output driving module, high-voltage safety management module and communication module. Software system of vehicle control unit was designed including hardware drive layer program and upper management program. Hardware drive layer included I/O acquisition, AD converter, DA converter, CAN bus communication, which were bound up with chip and its peripheral circuit. Upper management layer was the program of vehicle control strategy which is the core algorithm of control system.The performance of vehicle control unit was testified by hardware in the loop simulation, when the design of hardware system and software system were completed. The results showed that the vehicle control unit was stable and reliable. Vehicle control unit can make the demand of vehicle functional requirements. The control strategy was effective.
