The power industry is the first national basic industries. It is a colossal basic industries.It is the development strategy focuses about development of national economic on first. And the importance of the power industry in economic development has been fully reflected. As an important national economic development,basic industry,its development is related to national economic development and people’s living standards improvement. With the continues development of China’s economy and the demand for electricity continues to expand, which determines a lot of power to carry out construction projects. Substation construction projects is typical of power construction project Substation construction project need a large initial investment, high technical requirements, long duration, etc., resulting in the construction process by a variety of uncertainties interference. Main project inevitably face a variety of large and small risks and consequences of the loss.If you do not do things in advance to predict risk and control risk work, then it may affect the smooth progress of construction projects, and even leads to serious consequences.For this reason, it is necessary to risk management for substation construction project.First this paper describes the background and definition of risk then it continues to analyze the concept of risk and characteristics of substation construction projects and its risk management concepts and main content. Secondly,it elaborates in detail about the main process of substation construction project risk management,which includes risk identification,risk analysis and assessment,risk control and decision-making.In terms of risk identification,it describes several common risk identification methods and the results obtained.In the risk analysis and assessment, substation construction project risk analysis combined the qualitative and quantitative analysis by using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and made subjective estimates objectified.Then it introduces several common risk control methods and risk control results obtained.Finally, it takes risk assessment of500kV Hanjiang substation construction project for example to demonstrate the feasibility of a risk assessment system.
