With the growth of the national economy and the improvement of people’s living standard,the demand for electricity is increasing, white the electric power system of Huangpu district ofGuangzhou city is difficult to meet the need of power supply. In order to keep the sustainabledevelopment of national economy in future, distribution network planning, construction andrenovation is becoming more and more central to the power grids. As the construction of powernetwork involves a large amount of facilities’ working and updating,land requisition and someother things how to make distribution planning, which ensuring the safe, stable, reliable andeconomic operation of distribution network, making full use of the money and land, is one of theindispensable important work to the relevant government and department of power grids.This paper based on the power network construction of Huangpu district of Guangzhou cityin2011. It analyses the current situation of power system, and draws reasonable load forecastingwith the expect development of various kinds of load.According to the status of distributionnetwork on Huangpu district,this paper also draw the distribution network planning guidanceand planning ideas, which conclude the schemes of medium voltage distribution systemconstruction and renovation, which offer the basis for future Power construction, modificationand optimization of Huangpu district. The planning will be further improve the Huangpudistribution network, and make it not only meet the city construction and economic development,but also to gradually become a strong grid meeting the requirements of the provincial powergrid.These researches in this paper have good guidance significance and appropriate engineeringvalue in meticulous planning and the development of the distribution network on Huangpudistrict.
