Green building is ecological and sustainable building that it can supplycomfortable and healthy place for people to live, and make great sense for energyconversation and building low-carbon city. Water conservation and utilization isimportant part and essential for green building. This paper researched the methodof rainwater collection and treatment for green residential district, based onEvaluation standard for green building (GB/T50378-2006) about waterconservation and utilization of water resources in residential area, also consideredother factors such as use efficiency of Non-traditional water sources, treatmenttechniques, investment cost, operating costs, impact on municipal drainage system.Evaluation system of green building contains six indicators, each indicatorsinclude controlled items, ordinary items and preferable items. Green buildingshould meet the requirements of controlled items, and divided into three gradesaccording into the level of satisfaction of ordinary and preferable items, This paperanalyzed the green building requirements for rainwater utilization, put forwardmodes of rainwater collection and utilization for different grades of green buildingabout residential area according to the function of residential area, land planning,building height and whether have waterscape. It has many advantages, for example,the reused water quality is good, the utilization ratio of rain water is high, thetreatment technique is easy and reliable, the operating cost is low. Then, this paperintroduced rainwater collection and utilization modes for other typical of publicbuildings.At last, this paper illustrated rain water collection and utilization modes forgreen building about residential area.
