Traffic parameters measurement is one of the important issues of advancedtraffic management and control. It is also an important factor of transportationplan. The detection technology of traffic detector has directly affected the overalloperation of road traffic control systems and management.Having cognizance of the limitations of traditional traffic detectors inapplication and implementation.Based on seismic sensor array based approach andShort-range wireless communications technology, this thesis propose a design oftraffic detector based on Bluetooth low energy.By using TI’s Bluetooth low energy wireless communication technology, thisthesis builds a wireless network of traffic detector based on Bluetooth Piconet. Inhardware design, it includes Bluetooth master node for data processing, serveralBluetooth slave nodes for date collection and power management. In softwaredesign, it has realized the communication between Bluetooth master node andBluetooth slave node, accessing Bluetooth devcie MAC addresses, collection andtransmission of Vehicle Vibration information, design of PC software.By the analysis of existing traffic detection technology and research, this thesishas summrized the feature of existing traffic detection technology and its applicationvalue. This paper expands the Bluetoothhe low energy technology applications byreseaching of the current short-range wireless communications. This paper builds awireless network of traffic detector based on Bluetooth Piconet which enrichs themethord of traffic detection. It increased traffic information by accessing Bluetoothdevice MAC address and Vehicle Vibration information.
