From the Gulf War to the recent War in Iraq, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)was frequently used to perform military tasks, has become an important andindispensable part of battlefield, so UAV technique has also achieved a rapiddevelopment.The main task of UAV remote telemetry system is to receive real-time, processand display UAV flight status, the task load state and other telemetry data, from timeto time send the flight control data, task load control data and other controlinstructions and data communication link, etc, as an important part of the UAV system.The UAV remote telemetry system performance largely determines the overallperformance of the UAV system, as the link between the UAV and the ground station.The purpose of the subject is to design a UAV ground remote telemetry system tomeet the functional requirements of the UAV system. Firstly, the paper describes thebackground and development trends of the UAV remote telemetry system in the UAVsystem to indicate the importance and necessity of research of the UAV remotetelemetry system. Secondly, the issue introduces the working principle, thecomposition of the hardware and software of the UAV remote telemetry system thenput forward the overall design of the UAV ground remote telemetry system. Thirdly,the paper introduces the basic principle of the UAV flight control system, designs aUAV6DOF motion model and describes the basic structure and principle of the UAVflight attitude control system. Fourthly, the paper describes further CCSDS AOSspace data system standards, analyzes the process of data transmission of UAV remotetelemetry system using CCSDS AOS standards to the UAV system. Finally, the paperintroduces the UAV ground remote telemetry system soft design part in detail,summarizes the design work of the UAV ground remote telemetry system and theoutlook for further research.The software parts of the UAV ground remote telemetry system is based on theWindows XP operating system, applying to Visual C++6.0as developmentenvironment, using a modular concept embedded serial communication technology,virtual aviation meter technology, Google Earth COM API secondary developmenttechnology, etc, to design and develop ground station interface, including systemdebugging, route planning, flight monitoring, data playback four functional modules. The UAV remote telemetry ground station applies the CCSDS standards spacedata system to achieve effective and reliable data transmission and can meet therequirements of different users of the communication quality, by reading and writingserial buffer to enforce interactive data between UAV and ground station. GoogleEarth is used to achieve map navigation, and provides a three-dimensional display andelevation models to bring unmanned flying machine in the three-dimensional spacecome true at the same time. Real-time storage the Route planning waypointinformation for analysis and playback afterwards, in instrumentation and data mannerto display real-time UAV flight attitude information and other functions are realized,which effectively support ground operations personnel to monitor the state of theUAV for ensuring the safety of the UAV and the efficiency of completion of themission.
