The thoughts of lean was come from lean producing mode whichoriginally run in Toyota plant. After nearly30years development, thiskind of thoughts has been deeply applied in area of logistic,manufacturing and marketing. But in area of product design andengineering, its application is still not so profound. Take vehicle closuresealing system as the object, this thesis expound the trial of establishinglean design system and the effect. The work of this thesis bases on thefacts below:Firstly, for different vehicle models, those components of closuresealing system have similar functional and performance requirement,similar GA process, similar material and manufacture procedure. Butcompare to those competitor in Europe, American and Japan, our productdesign distinctly has low degree of standardization, this gap lead to lowersharing rate of supply chain resource.Another aspect of actuality is that aiming a special product’s supplychain, people are mainly focusing on its function during product’s wholelife, but in its previous “gestate” stage (design and development stage),the works during “plan” and “resourcing” stage of supply chain arefinished then. If a stable and effective process can be set for these aspects,it will no doubt support following supply chain process of“manufacturing”,“shipping”,“return” to run smoothly.Base on the actuality above, the research work evolve to2direction,one is in longitudinal timing view, current supply chain need to be extended and cover part of product design and developing, this target isachieved mainly through product developing process optimization;another is in latitudinal space view, trying to enhance the relationshipamong supply chains of different product, thus to form a supply net chainwith higher efficiency. This target is achieved mainly throughestablishing standard product structure design series.
