A bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer is a kind of large-scale buck materialtransporting machines with small batch production. Most of its products are designedand manufactured for a specific project. To make corresponding changes in the designand manufacture of equipment required for the actual needs of different users. Withthe intense market competition, rapid response customer design technology formechanical products is great importance for enterprises to improve their marketcompetition and innovation ability. Therefore, parametric design of the dev ice is verynecessary.This paper takes the boom of DQL1200/1600.35bucket wheel stacker-reclaimeras study object.With the help of CAD Parametric design method and finite elementanalysis method, The architecture of the bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer boomparametric design and finite element analysis is found, and the parametric designsystem is developed. The main contexts as following:1) On the base of studying top-down method of parametric design,the bucketwheel stacker-reclaimer boom CAD parametric design is achieved.2) By studying parametric finite element theory and methods, the bucket wheelstacker-reclaimer boom’s parametric finite element design is achieved.3) The boom’s parametric finite element model is established and analyzed, andto reduce the weight of boom, optimal design of structure size is performed.According to the engineering requirements, topology optimization analysis of boom isperformed, minimal variation of the softness is topology optimization’s the objectivefunction, while the overall volume of the structure as a constraint functions,and finally,the boom’s conceptual model is got.4) Developed the parametric system of boom by dint of the object orienteddevelopment tool VB, with the help of secondary development Technology, andprovided a convenient and efficient operation computer aided design tool of bucketwheel stacker-reclaimer boom.Parametric design of boom is achieved and the parametric system is found, whichimproves boom’s design efficiency and quality. Under the guidance of thehuman-computer interaction interface, Designers can complete the design processsuccessfully without high professional quality, and reduce the labor intensity.
