Real-time machine status monitoring is the key of reducing the rate of degraded products,improving the quality of product, saving the cost of production in actual production of engine.Therefore, there is a requirement of real-time engine production status monitoring in manycorporations. The engine monitoring system of this paper is designed to satisfy thisrequirement.This system is designed for Shanghai automobile group engine plant KV6engineassembly line, using data communication technology of Simens’ configuration software forreal-time collecting and saving products’ quality data and alarming message in the engineproduces scene, monitoring the machine status;using VB Script to program the data bridgeprogram to read quality data of the corresponding workplace from PLC and store these datato database in service; using visual C#to program the Moby communication program torealize reading the MOBY data of engine cover line.The engine product quality data collection is realized by the real-time collection andstoring of the engine production data through this system. The requirement of real-timeengine production status monitoring is satisfied and the corporation economic benefit isimproved.
