The ship engine room monitoring and alarm system as a core part of automation engine plays a very important role for the safety and reliability of a ship,and it is one of the important symbols to measure ship advanced degree,so the study on monitoring and alarm system has important significance.In order to identify the design plan with programmable logic controller PLC as the core control unit,three different types of engine room monitoring and alarm system including the unit combination type,microcomputer control type and network-type are studied and analysised,and according to the related data that is from a under-construction ship,a set of engine room monitoring and alarm system is designed to meet the application requirements.In this paper,network structure and control mode of different types of engine room monitoring and alarm system products around the world are compared and analysed,meanwhile according to specification requirements of the China's classification society,a suitable network structure and a monitoring and alarm control mode for small and medium-sized shipping are selected to establish a scheme of the whole monitoring alarm system.At the same time,based on the overall requirements of monitoring and alarm system,the system network structure is designed,and the design scheme of the whole monitoring and alarm system is established.Finally,the system network structure and schedule of monitoring stations are completed.Ship engine room monitoring and alarm system that takes Siemens S7-300 PLC as core control unit is designed in this paper.In order to achieve the machine data collection processing and control function of PLC,the program is designed with applying STEP7 to lower place machine PLC.In addition,man-machine interface of the upper machine was designed with using the Siemens WinCC configuration software to realize the interface functions through editing global script code.The joint simulation debugging to PLC and WinCC is completed by S7-PLCSIM simulation software to verify the correctness of PLC program and the functionality of the human-computer interaction interface.Finally,engine room monitoring and alann database based on SQL Server was established in the paper,and set up the engine room monitoring and alarm data server that is convenient for view of the whole system data and the real-time sharing.Through the simulation,ship engine room monitoring and alarm system in this paper is designed to satisfy the functional requirement of the system,and meet the development demand of new ship engine room monitoring and alarm system.
