In engineering application field, many traditional design and manufacturing methods cannot meet the needs of users. Along with the function of computer hardware and software system improving constantly, virtual prototype technology has been developed rapidly. Relying on the modern modeling and simulation software, the engineer will be able to evaluate performance and parameters of the product accuratly without manufacting the physical prototype.Spiral mixing conveyor integrated the two functions of mixing and conveying. Importing the virtual prototype technology in the research and process, can evaluate several design schemes of the spiral mixed conveying shaft, in order to determine the best layout form. According to the design index, the size of parts were calculated, and the power transmission mode was determined. In the virtual assembly process, the designing problems can be found, can be timely adjusted, therefore the waste caused by repeated design and manufacturing would be avoided. In addition to modeling function, the important function is simulation, in this paper, the main components are in the dynamic force and motion process, so only the dynamics analysis is performed, including the modal analysis of spiral mixed conveying shaft and force and speed simulation of the main rotary parts, the force and speed of the transmission shaft was analyzed using ADAMS dynamic analysis software, on one hand, the precision of the transmission was verified, on the other hand, the drive shafts was checked. According to the simulation results, overall assessment of the spiral mixing conveyor was carried out.Using virtual prototype technology in the spiral mixing conveyor life cycle, making full use of the virtual design and virtual simulation technology, the problems in the design are timely, The performance of virtual prototype is also evaluated accurately. Providing the theory and parameters for the physical prototype.
