As the city traffic congestion phenomenon is becoming more and more serious, countries in the world pay more attention to the city rail traffic and set it as the focus of the development of city infrastructure construction, because it has lots of advantages in volume, speed, construction sites, safety and environment. However, the rail transportation’s rapid development and vehicle technology’s continues improve greatly improved the train failure probability, so if we want to make full use of the rail transportation in our society, we must firstly ensure the safety running of it. Now there are kinds of safety monitoring systems in the train, although they play a role in train safety, but they often independent of each other and lack of contact, so it is difficult to grasp the whole running status of the train. In order to adapt to the rail train’s development speed, further improve the equipments’operation efficiency and the rail train’s safety coefficient, we must develop a new generation of comprehensive train safety monitoring system.This dissertation based on the study of traditional train safety monitoring system, put forward a comprehensive train safety monitoring system that based on Ethernet technology, it greatly makes up the defects of traditional monitoring system in transmission rate, throughput, transmission protocol and data sharing. Specifically, the research work of this paper includes the following parts:(1) Firstly, through the research on the development status of train safety monitoring system at home and abroad, this paper put out the main problems existing in current monitoring network. Due to these circumstance, this paper present a new network architecture that combined Ethernet and fieldbus network technology, this monitoring network architecture can wonderfully meet the requirement of large capacity and high rate. In addition, this paper introduced the network structure, monitoring equipment, data flow, communication protocol, data analysis and storage process.(2) Secondly, according to the actual demand of train running safety monitoring system, this paper designed the database system by relational database, this database specified the system internal data storage form, reduced the data redundancy, saved the data storage space, improved data utilization rate, sharing and query efficiency, moreover it also has laid the foundation for the development of software management platform system. (3) Finally, this paper use the modular design idea designed the train safety monitoring system software platform, this platform completed the system users management, system devices management, real-time monitoring, historical data query, alarm information query, report generation, statistical analysis and other functions. In addition, the system software platform provided a friendly management monitoring interface, it has great importance in improving the system’s work efficiency and train operation safety.
