In the present age, since mega-event is playing significant roles of bringingopportunities for development, it has been hold more and more frequent in themajority of cities in China. By using the methods of comparative study, as well aschoosing the comparable cities Guangdong and Taiwan, this research will discuss theimpact on urban renewal of the mega-event under urban design perspective. The maincontent of the essay will firstly introduce the mega-event of urban renewal implementsituation and results in both Guangzhou and Taiwan, then followed by the comparisonof the concepts and methods of urban renewal.
