The schedule management is the key component of project management. Heavy industries equipment manufacturing project has the characteristic of long construction period, large capital investment, complex technology and lots of uncertain factors. So the schedule management of the project is difficult and the project is easy to delay, so the project investment benefit is reduced. Therefore, for such projects, schedule control is an important method to ensure the success of the project. A suitable arrangement and control can make sure that the project is completed on schedule. Schedule management is one of the three major goals in project management.The paper adopted case study method to carry on research about NHI EPC company’s schedule management problem. The paper puts forward to the necessity of schedule control in the heavy industries project and purpose of research based on learning the schedule control research status. After clearing the aim and object, the author lists the events of NHI EPC company during first6months in2012and analysis the damage to the company caused by project delay. Then the author states the basic principle of scheduling control theory, research status in China and foreign countries, and general factors that affect the heavy industries equipment manufacture company. Identify the key factors of schedule problem of NHI EPC company:the organization structure is not perfect, do not pay attention of project planning etc., and analyses those key factors. At last, on the base of analyzing the key factors of NHI EPC company’s scheduling management, the author proposed to adjusting the organization framework; perfecting the communication system; establishing the rules guarantee system; using the CCM method for project planning and controlling; regulating the quality and scope management standard, recruiting talent, training the employee to advanced the NHI EPC company’s project schedule control management level.
