The safety of vehicles is being increasingly concerned as the vehicle ownership gradually enhanced.At the same time the manufacturer of the vehicle are pursuiting for combination of security and economy in vehicle production. The frameas an important member of the vehicle supporting not only the load of the whole vehiclebut also the variety of driving conditions from traveling.As the resultthe reliability and economy of the frame is being more and more attentioned.The object of this paper is an electric car frame by measuring the actual size of the framedraw the two-dimensional parts and assembly of the frame with AUTOCAD.After that on the basis of the two-dimensional map then establish a three-dimensional model of the entire frame with Pro/Engineerin order to facilitate the establishment of the finite element model simplified the structure of the three-dimensional frame model.Then extract the midsurface of the frame and process geometry cleanup of it. Take advantage of the rich functionality of the software to achieve in the high-quality meshing.After thatestablish the material propertiesthickness of the midsurface and restrain in bending and torsional conditions;Import model of the finite element and analyse the strength of the two conditions then get the result of locality stress concerntration this case take some optimization measures to ensure the reliability of the frame.The model analysis of the frame is studied.The mode vibration model and Proper frequency of the frame are calculated by mode analysis.The dynamic charaeteristic is considered by the frequency and the mode.Finally achieve the optimization of the frame by reducing the thickness of it.The results of this study show that the static mechanical properties of the frame as is basically reasonable although there are also locally wn reasonable.Optimization of the size of the frame has guiding significance in production.
