As the most important means of conveyance of passengers and goods,railtransport is well capable of boosting economic and cultural exchange, especially inChina. With the increase of traffic pressure, various instabilityphenomena occur onoriginal railway roadbed foundations. Therefore, the railway roadbed needs to bereinforced. According to the special geological conditions and environmentalconditions of railway roadbed, a chemical grouting reinforcement manner can bechosen. Due to the environmental restriction of railway roadbed slope, theapplicability of existing large-scale horizontal positioning rig which common usedcannot work.Therefore, a special lightweight jet grouting rig for railway roadbedreinforcement is designed.On the basis of the literature of jet grouting and the basic requirements of rigdesign, the overall outlet of the rig is developed, and then the sizes of the maincomponents are calculated. A3D model is built, and the indoor experiment wasconducted to test the results, which provides a good reference for furtherdevelopment.The advantages of this light jet grouting foundation reinforcement rig include asfollowing: First, the light machine quality, split structure and each part of the structureare compacted, easy to transport and easy installation or removal; Second, to achievethe mechanical dumping deduction drill pipe, we increase a dumping deductioncylinder in gripper, which can avoid difficulty of manual operation.The mechanicalcontrol of breakout and replace of drill pipe can be achieved; Third, we applied thefoundation treatment technique which is often used in vertical underground groutingto the horizontal drilling railway roadbed reinforcement. Forth, we use hydrauliccontrol system, one cycloid motor for control of power head rotary, another forcontrol of sprockets chain institutions to move power head. With the combination ofhydraulic motor and motor, we realize the low speed high torque steeples speedcontrol of power head and the continuity and stability of drilling. Fifth, we design a rig guide rail and brackets.After the completion of the design, the non-standard parts’ machining andstandard parts’ procurement is being to do, complete the assembly of rig for indoordebugging.
