Recently, because many of motor vehicles go into the blowout of a sharp increase, the existing road traffic road resources can not meet the normal traffic. Two way to resolve this problem are:The first way is, to improve the existing road transport facilities; The second way is, using technical and scientific means to guide the vehicle in order to ease traffic pressure roads. In this paper, ITS (Intelligent Transport System, Intelligent Transport Systems) comes into being, it is a real-time, accurate, efficient and integrated transport management system. This paper proposes a kind of intelligent transportation system which can effectively alleviate the traffic pressure. Vehicle tracking and navigation systems as an imortant component of the intelligent transportation system, the research has important practical significance and broad development prospects.This paper is focused on the design and development of vehicle tracking and navigation system, and mainly study the following three aspects:(1) How to acquire, analyze, package, transmit and store GPS data. Using JSON technology to package vehicle GPS data, parse and store GPS data in server.; using GPRS technology to transmit data from terminals to the server.(2) Research and implement the vehicle tracking and navigation. Using JavaScript,XML technology and Google Maps API interface to implement functions, such as vehicle locating, vehicle tracking, historical track playbacking and navigation.(3) Research on the vehicle tracking and navigation system structure based on Google Maps, and establish the overall system framework, Functional modules of the system is scientifically divided, as well as database analysis and design, Finally using MyEclipse development tools and SQL Server2005complete the system development. Through the tests of experiment, Collecting GPS data of This system is real-time, high accuracy and fast response, that can better meet the needs of user tracking and navigation of the vehicle. This paper use Google Maps as vehicle tracking and navigation system map service, it can be able to provide a friendly UI interface,and relatively free access to Google Maps, saving the cost of system development, and bringing good economic benefits. Benefit from a comprehensive analysis, tracking and navigation system based on Google Maps has a good promoting and practical significance for road transport vehicles.
