The construction of hospital in our country is moving into a peak period. However, after completion, their economic and social benefits did not achieve the expected results; Theoretical study of hospital construction and hospital construction guidelines or norms lag; The construction process of hospitals has defects. The mission statement and process design lack professional depth and POE. In this context, the establishment of POE of the hospital buildings to form a virtuous circle design pattern of plan-design-feedback (POE) is very necessary. But at this stage, the POE of the hospital buildings has not been carried out yet. In2010, professor Gelunapplied for the key project of Beijing Natural Science Foundation "Hospital building function and environmental post occupancy evaluation system", which will fill our vacancies in the field of POE for hospital buildings.Intensive care units are the clinical base ofCritical Care Medicine Department, and its main function is to strengthen the treatment of critically patients, which directly reflects the overall level of the hospital emergency treatment and embodies the modernization level of the hospitals. Therefore, the study of POE for intensive care units in hospital is an important part of the subject. This paper is composed of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, discussing mainly about the soursces and research value of the subject, sorting out the status of research in related fields both at home and abroad, comfirming study methodology, study subject and study content and building the paper frame. The second chapter builds preliminary evaluation framework and the selection of the evaluation criteria based on the selection of preliminary evaluation methods and the study in related fields. On the basis of the evaluation criteria informed initially, the third chapter is the field research of hospitals across the country, summarizing and analyzing the data collected and adjusting the evaluation methods, evaluation framework and primary selection evaluation criteria formed initially, which are the preparation for the finalizing of the evaluation criteria. Based on the third chapter, the fourth chapter determines the standards of POE for the intensive care units in hospitals and applies the evaluation criteria to hospital B, which is also a test of the contents and methods of the evaluation criteria. Based on the above chapters, the fifth chapter attempts to prepare a comprehensive and systematic design guidelines for the hospitals’intensive care units, while it may be one-sided and contain many shortcomings. It still needs plenty of surveys, basic data collection and guidance from the experts.
