The Countermeasures Analysis Of Zhongshan City Traffic Congestion Management

With the rapid economic development of Zhongshan City, the downtown of Zhongshan continues to expand, the pace of urbanization continues to accelerate, which lead to the rapid growth of motor vehicles especially the cars, and bring great pressure to the city traffic. Zhongshan City is facing the traffic congestion and the economic, social, environmental problems. Aiming at solving the traffic congestion problems, many scholars try to do theoretical researches from different angles and different areas. This article is based on the situation of Zhongshan City, combining foreign advanced research results and experiences, and gives some countermeasures and suggestions on the solution of traffic congestion, the main contents are as follows:Firstly, this article expounds two theories related to the solution to the traffic congestion, namely TOD (transit oriented development) and the idea of urban management, as a theoretical basis for the following analysis.Secondly, the article introduces the status of Zhongshan and the status of vehicle quantities in the downtown, and forecasts the quantities of vehicle ownership in the future, which provide reliable data to support the theoretical analysis and countermeasure of the following state.Thirdly, the article carries on the thorough analysis research about the traffic congestion of the downtown from the macroscopic and the microscopic aspects. From the macro aspect, the urban expansion, unreasonable land development, the automobile consumption policies are the main courses; The traffic management, the public transportation and the lack of funds for construction are the micro causes of traffic congestion.Finally, on the basis of the analysis of the congestion, the article presents comprehensive countermeasures of the downtown traffic congestion in Zhongshan city. First is the overall planning, formulation of city traffic development strategy; Second is the establishment of the synthesis transportation coordination mechanism; Third is the application of urban management, to broaden the financing channels; Fourth is the specific measures for the implementation of comprehensive transportation. The article emphasizes the problem of traffic congestion is a comprehensive subject, and only multi-measures can have the ideal effect.
