S.alopecuroides L., which is widely distributed in China’s northwest region, is a plantand it is rich in resources in China. Some people found that extract from the root ofS.alopecuroides L.displayed excellent inhibitory activity against a variety of pathogens invitro, Such as, Fusarium graminearum, Botrytis cirerea and so on. In addition, the acetoneextract had obvious control effect against wheat powdery mildew. Preliminary studies showedthat pyroligneous acid contained a variety of acids, ketones, phenols, alcohols and othercompounds, and it not only can inhibit growth of pathogens, expel insects, stimulate plantgrowth, but also had good solubility. Therefore, wood vinegar can be applied to developplant-source pesticides.hnology of antifungal substances from the root of S.alopecuroides L.was investigated. For another, selecting the extract as the active substance and wood vinegaras primary solvent,5%extract soluble liquid (SL) from the root of S.alopecuroides L. wasstudied through the screening of solvent, SAA and so on. The last but not the least, theantifungal activity of the SL was determined systematically. The main results can be brieflydescribed as follows:1. The optimal technological conditions were obtained through the single-factor andorthogonal test experiments. The influences of solvent, liquid-solid ratio, extract times andheat time on antifungal activity of the extracts against Botrytis cirerea were discussed. Theresults indicated that the best extraction conditions: ethanol concentration75%, liquid-solidratio10:1, heating2hour at80℃, extracting3times.2. The formulation of5%extract SL from the root of S.alopecuroides was determined. The ingredients of5%extract SL1were as follows:5%extract,20%ethanol,12%tw80,10%citric acid,53%wood vinegar. The ingredients of5%extract SL2were as follows:5%extract,30%ethanol,5%DMSO,12%tw80,10%citric acid,38%water. The physical and chemicalproperties of the two formulations can meet the standards.3. The quality detection method of5%extract SL from the root of S.alopecuroides wasset up by UV spectrophotometry. The results demonstrated a good linear relationship betweenresponse value and concentration. In addition, the method was credible and correct. 4. The antifungal activity in vitro of the two SL was determined with mycelium growthrate method. The extract has noticeable inhibitory against Fusarium graminearum,Glomerella cingulate and so on. The EC50of5%extract SL1against Botrytis cirerea andExserohilum turcicum were respectively88.3mg/L and63.0mg/L.5. The control effects in vivo of5%extract SL from the root of S.alopecuroides wereevaluated by mean of pot tests and tissue tests. The following conclusions can be drawn: The5%extract SL1shows significantly higer effect than5%extract SL2. At the concentration of1000mg/L, the protective and therapeutic effects of5%extract SL1on Botrytis cirerea were60.40%and53.61%, and on wheat powdery mildew were68.75%and57.33%. Significancetest of difference results suggested that there was no significant difference between the sampleand contrast agents. At the concentration of1000mg/L,5%extract SL1showed significantlyhigher control effect on cucumber powdery mildew compared with50%Carbendazim WP(625mg/L).6. The results of field efficacy trials of Fulria fulva showed that at the concentration of1000mg/L,5%extract SL from the root of S.alopecuroides L. has certain control effects, which has no significant difference between50%Carbendazim WP(1000mg/L) and thesample. At the other concentration, there was no obvious control effect of the twoformulations. In summary,5%extact SL1from the root of S.alopecuroides L.with wood vinegar asprimary solvent has good prospects for promoting and applying in agriculture.
