Objective: Retrospectively to research the expression and clinic significance ofhypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) inUygur and Han of endometrial cancer tissue, and analyze the correlation between HIF-1αand VEGF, the relationship and relevance of these protein of expression andhistopathological grade, clinical stage. Methods: The immunohistochemical method wasused to determine the expression of HIF-1α and VEGF in45cases Uygur and Han womenof endometrial caicinoma,15cases Uygur and Han women of atypical hyperplasia ofendometrium and10normal endometrial tissue. Results: Percentages of HIF-1α andVEGF expression in Uygur and Han endometrial cancer tissues were (31/45,28/45) and(36/45,26/45), which were obvioussly higher than the atypical hyperplasia ofendometrium expression (5/15,5/15) and (5/15,6/15)(P<0.05), which were remarkablyhigher than the normal endometrial tissue (P<0.05). And the positive of HIF-1α and VEGFwere correlated with histopathological grade and clinical stage (P<0.05), and theendometrial cancer organizes HIF-1α the expression and the VEGF expression presentcorrelation. The expression of HIF-1α and VEGF does not have a remarkably difference inUygur and Han. Conclusion: HIF-1α the high expression with VEGF at the endometrialcancer, and the lower expression of the atypical hyperplasia, hardly marked expression innormal endometrial cell; both of them in endometrial carcinoma play an important role intumor genesis and malignant progress. There is not a remarkably difference between theexpression of HIF-1α and VEGF in Uygur and Han. The positive of HIF-1α and VEGFwere correlated with histopathological grade and clinical stage. Therefore, the combineddetection of HIF-1α and VEGF could be used as predictor of prognosis in endometrialcancer patients, they can also provides a rationale for the clinical treatment of endometrialcancer in Uygur and Han women.
